Asterix Volume 9: Asterix and the Normans

Asterix and the Normans is volume 9 of the Asterix comic series by René Goscinny and Albert Uderzo. A group of Norse warriors arrives with a peculiar ambition: they want to learn what fear is, believing it can help them fly. Their search brings them into contact with the Gaulish village, where Asterix and Obelix must handle a series of misunderstandings and comic challenges.

The story combines energetic action and visual humour with a playful look at bravery, reputation and what people believe about themselves. The Normans’ serious approach to their unusual goal contrasts with the villagers’ practical responses, giving the story its comic tension. As in other Asterix adventures, familiar characters and detailed illustrations make the book rewarding for readers who enjoy classic European comics.

This English-language paperback is volume 9 of the series and is published by Hachette India. It may suit readers discovering Asterix, families sharing comic adventures and fans adding individual volumes to their shelves.
