Asterix Volume 28: Asterix and the Magic Carpet

Asterix and the Magic Carpet is volume 28 of the Asterix comic series by Albert Uderzo. Asterix and Obelix travel east on a mission connected with a young princess and a distant land, encountering unfamiliar customs, unexpected dangers and comic misunderstandings along the way. The journey gives the story a change of setting while retaining the series’ energetic characters and playful approach to adventure.

The book combines a quest-style plot with expressive artwork, wordplay and humour built around the Gauls’ reactions to new situations. The contrasts between characters and cultures create much of the comedy, while the story keeps friendship and resourcefulness at its centre. Readers can enjoy it as a standalone adventure or as another instalment in the wider series.

This English-language paperback is volume 28 of the Asterix series and is published by Hachette India. It may appeal to readers of classic comics, families who enjoy illustrated adventures and fans collecting the individual volumes.
