The Cat Who Dropped a Bombshell

In The Cat Who Dropped a Bombshell by Lilian Jackson Braun, journalist Jim Qwilleran and his perceptive Siamese cats, Koko and Yum Yum, are caught up in the preparations for Pickax City's sesquicentennial celebration. Qwilleran offers to let young architect Harvey Ledfield sketch his distinctive home, an apple barn, but Koko's unusual reaction to the visitor makes Qwilleran suspect that something is wrong.

When members of the wealthy Ledfield family die under suspicious circumstances, social festivities and town projects are overshadowed by questions of inheritance, deception and hidden motives. Qwilleran's knack for noticing small details—and Koko's uncanny instincts—help point the way through the clues.

This entry in the popular Cat Who series blends cosy mystery, small-town atmosphere and feline sleuthing. It is a good choice for readers who enjoy gentle crime fiction, eccentric characters and mysteries without graphic violence.
